Complaints Procedure

AF Dance is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and professional environment for everyone in our community. We believe all participants have the right to feel safe, supported, and treated with respect while taking part in our classes, events, and activities.
AF Dance does not tolerate harassment, bullying, intimidation, or inappropriate conduct within our community. Concerns relating to behaviour that may affect the safety, dignity, or wellbeing of participants are taken seriously and will be reviewed in accordance with this policy.
We encourage anyone with concerns about behaviour, safety, or wellbeing to bring them forward.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Concerns submitted to AF Dance are handled with appropriate discretion. Information provided may be reviewed by members of the AF Dance management team responsible for assessing the matter and may be shared where reasonably necessary to consider the concern, meet safety obligations, or where required by law.
While we make reasonable efforts to respect privacy, some information may need to be discussed with relevant individuals in order to fairly review and address a concern.
AF Dance aims to handle concerns in a fair and balanced manner and does not make findings or conclusions until the available information has been appropriately considered.
How to Submit a Formal Complaint
If you wish to submit a formal complaint, please email info@afdance.co.nz and include as much of the following information as you feel comfortable providing:
Your Details
Name and preferred contact information.Details of the Concern
A description of the incident or concern.Date and Location
When and where the incident took place.Individuals Involved
The name(s) of the person or persons the complaint relates to.Witnesses
Names of anyone who may have been present.Supporting Information
Any relevant messages, images, or documentation that may assist the review.Formal or Legal Matters
Whether the matter has been reported to authorities or involves official proceedings.
Review Process
AF Dance will review concerns in good faith and determine an appropriate response based on the information available and the circumstances of the matter.
We understand that raising concerns can sometimes be difficult. Anonymous reports are welcome; however, limited information may make it more difficult for us to fully investigate or take specific action.
Providing contact details or additional information may assist us to better understand the situation and follow up where appropriate.
Individuals who raise concerns in good faith will be treated respectfully and without retaliation.
If a concern involves potential harm, harassment, or illegal behaviour, individuals may also wish to seek independent advice or contact appropriate authorities.
